SHOULD I TELL OR NOT?
Washed in his blood and forgiven all absolutes,
Here I stand saved and sanctified,
Sticks and stones the enemy hurls at me
Yet I forge on in this pilgrims journey
Perfection is the goal, crown of glory the prize,
The future seems bleak, my faith yet rises
Hope birthed in me like a ray of light in darkness
The savior is ever near and faithful
He has no record of failure
I cling on tightly to his hem, sailing to glory
Of this I must certainly tell
As my inward parts cannot withhold
The laudation my heart seems to render
Should I tell or not?
The mercy of our God is real
Birthing salvation for the lost soul
His forgiveness and pardon are absolute
Shall I tell of him further? How can I not tell.
Hear ye people, how great is my God!
I ride on the wings of grace
Clothed with favour as with a shield
Showered with blessings and led by the Spirit
Loved divinely and exceedingly above all human comprehension
An Ingrate shall I be if I tell not
My God, your love I proclaim to the ends of the earth
Shall ye tell it further or not?
Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and valleys
Let it be heard in Africa, Asia and all the lands
His death was final and the price paid in full
Alas, victory is ours by reason of His resurrection
Join me to proclaim the joyful song of salvation story.

MY HEART SHAKES WITH FEAR
My heart shakes with fear
Of losing someone so dear
The one for whom I care
You own my heart
Please do not tear it apart
From where should I again start?
Now my nights are so long
And my pain is so strong
For to you does my heart belong
You’ve been my source of peace
Into my life you brought bliss
Now all I want to say is please
Fear is terrible!
With you my heart is secure
To my aching heart you’re the cure
Because you came with a heart so pure
Your attributes are sublime
Good qualities prime
The best of your time
So do not leave me alone
Living life on my own
Please pity my sober tone

MORTAL BODY
Dead, they died
And then, we cried
Morrow we wake
But we see their fake
Mouth have I sealed
lord have I seen
Morrow I wake
But I see their fake
The one I know smiles
No talking, nor grinning, there in the tomb his body lies
But then to be save
We made for the grave
Grave – the home of the dead
Hear it to your inside
Live it O ye mastermind
A soul is it that you give
To the grave we put and we leave

WILL I EVER SEE YOU AGAIN
Will I ever see you again Brother,
Will I ever see you again sister,
Will you ever smile the same tomorrow
Now that you’re going there from this sorrow,
Dears, let me shed all African rivers
As you’re on your ways out of our borders,
Where nobody is wearing loin-cloth,
Where no bread is better than half a loaf…
Blood of mine let me kiss you one last time,
Let me embrace you as the sun-god still shines,
In your eyes there is a spark of promise,
But is it a promising spark my Dears,
The traveler
Will I not lose you when you turn your face,
When you have tin food all days in you plates,
Will you not start denying your home tongues
When the Winter wind flows into your lungs,
Will you deny Africa too my peers,
Oh don’t mind me bursting into tears.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
As he embarks on mission impossible
As we anticipate the magic from the magician
As we cast Goodluck away
As we see the dawn of a new day
We bend our heads to pray
The South South is wary
The North ever so merry
The West can’t possibly complain
Perhaps the East feels the same
The rest of us
Yes, we the Nigerians
Not bound by ethnic chains
Casted our votes in the same vain
Make no mistake
We are the future hope
We, the Nigerians
The prayer we say
Is that all his tricks hold sway
And an applause at the end of the day
Muhammadu Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan
Because only destiny could have brought him all the way
And this destiny cannot let him fail
It will not
It must not
Can the necrosis be greater than this?
The pain is 10 out of 10
The acetaminophen giving temporary comfort
We need complete excision of corruption
Then healing can proceed
As my beloved teacher would stay
Let’s drain the pus
Let’s put good stuff in
This is beyond science
This is beyond good reasoning
This is beyond good luck
This is mission impossible
What can make the impossible possible?
Sincerity, honesty and dexterity
Will, beyond our imagination
At the right time in the right place
Destiny, with God’s grace
The seemingly impossible becomes possible
As we rejoice lets not forget
The change we seek
Yes, that change so sleek
Starts with me and you!
Dedicated to Nigeria especially on her smooth transition process from one civilian government to a new one.

I WANT CHANGE
Holders clasp light like a prisoner!
Darkness stares me in the face,
With a choir of generators groaning,
I want change!
Thieves coronated as Chiefs,
With pockets heavy with greed,
Rode men like horses!
I want change!
Our crude made us rude brothers!
Slaying compatriots with scarcity!
Yet it is our Black Gold!
I want change!
Eyes of education gorged out!
Graduates in a dance of shame!
Like men blindfolded by ignorance!
I want change!
The fragrance of job is strange!
Chased by able-bodied men,
Only few lay hold of it!
I want change!
Is this the CHANGE you want?
Walls of our haven crumble,
Chants of extremists befuddle our ears,
Until our daughters were stolen!
I want change!
The river of peace licked by hatred!
Thirsty men pound their fists
Until their fits see drops of blood,
I want change!
Mosquitoes steal wings of Eagles,
Cruising the skies with pride,
While the owners perish in potholes!
I want change!
Natives camp like fugitives!
Scattered pieces of peace
Litter the mountains and valleys!
I want change!
Men on the hills,
Spit parcels of phlegm,
As dividends of democracy!
I want change!
Riches of the wealthy is out of reach,
Poverty pampers the pauper,
Until he snores in the snows of suffering!
I want change!
Thumbs laced with portions of power,
Submitted at the pool of polls!
Birthed drunkards in the Public square!
I want a change!
Who knows the abode of change?
Searched the valleys and hilltops!
Is it not within you and I?
I want a change!
Deep in the sockets of your eyes,
I see the scripts of change!
Live it out like a change!
For this is change – YOU!
